We are growing our Development Operations team and seeking individuals with Linux systems administration experience at the core, biased toward security, networking, and provisioning automation to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Managing daily system operations of GCP and our platform
- Troubleshooting system and network issues
- Helping Product Development with systems-based architectural decisions
- Implementing and documenting methodologies for maintaining our infrastructure as we grow, both refining existing mechanisms and developing new processes
- Monitor and capture metrics for system operations
- Monitor systems for security events
- Extending current, and creating new automation to accomplish all of the above
- Work closely with our Development team to design and implement new infrastructure needs to support future initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
- A strong Linux/Unix background, with a good understanding of Linux configuration mechanisms (We primarily use Ubuntu)
- Experience developing large automation efforts with standard Linux tools
- Experience with automation tooling such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef (strong preference for Ansible)
- Previous professional experience in Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with (or willing to learn) Infrastructure as Code (We use Terraform)
- A good understanding of the end-to-end Mail Transport process and protocols (We use Postfix)
- A good understanding of the TCP/IP stack, basic routing and firewalling concepts, and how to troubleshoot networking issues
- Database management, monitoring and support experience (strong preference for PostgreSQL experience).
- Previous professional experience with an enterprise monitoring system (strong preference for Zabbix experience)
- Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
- A passion for computer, network, and application security
- Roughly 3 years of experience
Role Objectives
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize infrastructure to ensure high availability and minimal downtime for applications and services
- Ensure all systems and software is ‘in support’ from a versioning standpoint
- Adopt security and best practice measures designed to protect the health of the platform and customer data.

- This is a full-time position
- Core hours for this position are 10am-2pm ET during the week.
- Development Operations technician needs to be able to respond outside of business hours for system maintenance, outages and emergencies (this, too, is minimal)
